Hi!

Does anybody know of any linux program/plugin which can enlarge pictures the way PhotoZoom Pro does, with specialized enlargements algorithms?

Thanks in advance.

you might try digikam (the resize tool in digikam's editor, showfoto, with "restore photograph" enabled) (example here, the docs are a bit old), or media-gfx/greycstoration (CLI only). (there's also a gimp plugin, gimp-greycstoration, but it does only noise removal/resharpening, not resizing)

Perhaps it would function properly through Wine? :?

Thanks for the info. I didn't know DigiKam had such an algorithm.

Yes, it does, thank you. But my point is to find a free alternative. I don't want to buy the package.

You can get a script for Gimp by the name of "upsize".
Works quite good.
Gerard.
To install Gentoo I use sysrescuecd.Based on Gentoo, has firefox to browse Gentoo docs and mc to browse (and edit) files.
The same disk can be used for 32 and 64 bit installs.
You can follow the Handbook verbatim.
