g-ctan Package database could not be downloaded.

I'm having the following error with the g-ctan :

# g-ctan -g
* Downloading package database ...
* Package database could not be downloaded.

I didn't change the config file of the g-ctan so i had to create the /usr/portage/local/g-ctan and set the PORTDIR_OVERLAY="$(portageq portdir)/local/g-ctan" in the make.conf.

I have the g-ctan-2008.1-r1 on ~amd64 arch.

Unfortunately, needed information are gone from the CTAN mirrors. This renders the tool unusable until I can update it for TeXLive 2009 (and that still needs to enter Portage). Meanwhile I hard masked it in the tree.

Meanwhile version 2008.2 of g-ctan is in the tree which works again. 2009.1 is also on its way for the just introduced TeXLive 2009.
