KDE 4.3.2 Greeter Crash

  • Quote

Post by donmartio » Thu Oct 08, 2009 7:39 am

Ho there,

i upgraded to kde-4.3.2 and no i can't start xdm anymore.
In /var/log/messages i found
kdm: :0[23957]: Abnormal termination of greeter for display :0, code 125, signal 0

Since i can start /usr/bin/startx from console and my box is almost running all the time at work there is no real problem so far.

But maybe someone has the same problem and knows a solution.

Greetings
DonMartio

Have you got a '/var/log/kdm.log'?

Same problem here after upgrading to kdm 4.3.1-r1 and kdelibs-4.3.1-r1
Reverting kdm and kdelibs didn't help. revdep-rebuild done and found nothing.

Here is the last lines of kdm.log :

Sorry... my kdm.log says nothing similar. No error there except the usual xkb things.

I try the UseThem stuff when i am back at work.

Thanks so far.

For me works this:

1. emerge jpeg [media-libs/jpeg-7]
2. revdep-rebuild
3. emerge kdm
4. etc-update
5. env-update && source /etc/profile

It seems the oxygen-air theme causes the crash. I still have UseTheme=true but changed my theme to circles or oxygen and it starts up fine.
