Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

for some reason now mozilla and MozillaFirebird will only run as root. When other users try it has no output and goes back to a prompt at the cli.
here's what I got from debug:

Code: Select all

$ MozillaFirebird --debug

Right before you stopped being able to use Mozilla(-Firebird) as a normal user, did you install any extensions system-wide? I had the problem of installing a certain extension as root and then not being able to start as a user. When I deleted that extension, the problems stopped and everything worked as normal again.

I believe the extensions are installed into /usr/lib/mozilla-*

I just deleted them and reinstalled, but had packages available :)
