Using two displays with different sizes/resolutions

Hi,

I'm currently using a 22" TFT with a resolution of 1680x1050 and I'm thinking of adding a 2nd display. It does not have to be that big, I think 20" are more than enough, maybe even less would suffice.
But I'm wondering if it is possible to have two displays with different sizes.
Is this even possible?

Oh and I'm cosidering to pivoting my 22" for programming, so I that I can see a big chunk of code and use the 2nd display to show some man-pages or something like that. Is such a setup possible?

Makes no sense to buy a 2nd TFT and then realize it's not possible what I want to do...

Geralt.

It can be done as long as your graphics card supports it. google it. Lots of information there.
"dual monitor", "twinview"

If you have ati, you can even have aticonfig do it for you (nvidia has something simular I guess).

Thanks, I'll check that and I have a nVidia card.

Edit:

I didn't find a solution for setting displays with different sizes. All I found were cases where people explained about two displays with the same resolution. And just replacing one resolution with another, does not work.

Edit:

Ok, I've got it working now, don't know why, it does all of a sudden, but it does :-)

I have two display that are different sizes and resolutions, and they work fine. I use Twinview. Left monitor is 22" 1680x1050 right is 19" 1440x900.
