Can someone explain "montype"?

I have no idea what this means, and (other than xorg-server crashing more often than it should - usually as a result of closing a specific application) don't have any major problems.

I have "VIDEO_CARDS='radeon'" in /etc/make.conf.

Hi, curmudgeon.

Digging a bit through some Google search results, I found this message from the FreeDesktop.org's ATi driver mailing list explaining that this appears to be nothing more than spurious debugging output from the driver switching modes and handling DPMS events.
