tls and amsn

  • Quote

Post by maevil » Fri Nov 07, 2008 3:44 pm

hello, i'm having a problem with amsn:
well after all i succed in installing it with AA fonts using tcl and tk from portage but now when i start it it shows a window saying that i need to install tls.

To get to the point, it install tls(i selected x86_64 version since i have an amd64)it also says that it should work and after when i press login it just ask me to install it!
Btw i've already tls-1.5 emerged from portage

Code: Select all

localhost matteo # emerge -av tls

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] dev-tcltk/tls-1.5.0  USE="X" 0 kB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB
anyone who could help me getting this solved?Thank you in advance:)

bunder ~ # etcat -v tls
* dev-tcltk/tls :

[ ~I] 1.5.0-r1 (0)
bunder ~ # etcat -v tcl
* dev-lang/tcl :

[ ~I] 8.5.5 (0)
bunder ~ # etcat -v tk
* dev-lang/tk :

[ ~I] 8.5.5 (0)
bunder ~ # etcat -v amsn
* net-im/amsn :

[ I] 0.97.2 (0)
not sure if that helps at all. works for me on my x86 machine.

cheers

Probably you just need to instal tls with the tk USE flag turned on.

I had to link the TLS .so file

I had to go into the /home/**USER**/.amsn/plugins directory and do this command: ln -s usr/lib64/libtls1.50.so
course that is going to be a little different if your using a different architecture like x86, but should solve your problem.
Hope this helped!
