Firefox spell check

Hi,

Have a slight mystery my install of firefox (www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.0.1) has lost it's 'check as you type' spellcheck. The relavent checkbox in settings is checked and I also have hunspell (app-text/hunspell-1.2.6)& dictionaries (app-dicts/myspell-en-20060316) installed.

Any thoughts as to what else might cause this?

Well, it's neither hunspell nor myspell-en, because mine works and I don't have those installed.

But I do have aspell-en. ...if that helps....

I actually have aspell, hunspell, myspell, and gtkspell all installed.... but I'd imagine it should be hunspell since:

None of the others list firefox as a package depending upon it. But then again, if it's working for notHerbert with aspell, then you should probably try installing that first......

it doesn't work for me eaither, i have been trying to figure this out.
i have aspell-en

ever since i switched to xulrunner it doesn't work anymore (worked with firefox-2.x but not firefox 3)
any ideas?

After I emerged firefox I had to re-emerge my hunspell dictionary to get this to work. So remerge myspell-$LANG (myspell-en for most of you) and you should be all set.

I never bothered reading this message after compiling hunspell:

I'm not sure if you actually have to recompile anything.

Oh and myspell-uk is Ukrainian, not British English ^^

Well I set the LINGUAS variable in make.conf so shouldn't the dictionary have automatically been pulled in by hunspell?

Well, I meant the ebuild should have been written to pull in the proper dictionary.

As did I ^^ I was merely proving it didn't. But seeing that there's a message at the end of the compile they must've had a reason not to.
