Broadcom BCM4306 Rev 02

I'm trying to get wireless, BCM4306 Rev 2, working on an AMD64 system. No wired internet on this computer (impossible to run the cable), though I have wireless access from my laptop. What's the best way to set up wireless without actually having the computer hooked up to the internet? All of the guides I've found assume you already have internet access...which I don't.

follow the directions, but if you need to download a package, grab the files ( can be seen by running the emerge, seeing the failures, or by looking at the ebuild), and put them into /usr/portage/distfiles.

hih.

Heh, I didn't think of doing that. However, the one problem I'm concerned about running into is my outdated (2+ months) system, as I haven't had this computer up and running since I moved, because of the wireless issue. I'll give it a shot though and see how it goes.

yep - try to do as little as possible to get it working, then do the rest over wireless.
