Stupid fdisk question

Having problems with the Gentoo Handbook? If you're still working your way through it, or just need some info before you start your install, this is the place. All other questions go elsewhere.

So, uh, what's the problem? Partition sizes are determined by drive geometry (for oldschool partitions anyway, it's different for example for LVM logical volumes), so it's perfectly possible that you are not able to get the same granularity (and thus same sizes) on two different disks. Why do you need them to be of the same size?

Have you tried cfdisk? It lets you specify in units of sectors, so you should be able to force the same size.

no i didn't try cfdisk but i don't think this will solve my problem.

@frostschutz: it's to use DRBD (raid1 over network)

thanks for your response i'll try with 2 close size partition to see if it works
