Default gtkrc-2.0

Where is the system-wide default gtkrc file kept? I want all users to default to a specific theme, and so I want to edit that instead of ~/.gtkrc-2.0. Thanks in advance!

Unless modified, the files looked for will be <SYSCONFDIR>/gtk-2.0/gtkrc and .gtkrc-2.0 in the users home directory. (<SYSCONFDIR> defaults to /usr/local/etc. It can be changed with the --prefix or --sysconfdir options when configuring GTK+.) Note that although the filenames contain the version number 2.0, all 2.x versions of GTK+ look for these files.

Thanks. Mine is actually in /etc/gtk-2.0/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/gtkrc. Adding 'include <path to theme's gtkrc>' didn't change my theme, though, even though I had no ~/.gtkrc-2.0. For that matter, neither did adding a ~/.gtkrc-2.0 with that line. I ended up installing gtk-theme-switch, and I know that won't change the default. Curious.
