1. When use VGA out and boot up, the bootsplash comes up just fine, but when I use TV-out it says something like "You passed an undefined video mode."

2. What is the flag in the XFree86 config file to enable TV-out?

Hardware:
EPIA V10000 Motherboard

Two things, what driver is in use in /etc/X11/XF86config and are you running at a res greater than 800x600?

You should be using the "via" driver in your XF86Config file

looks like this:

Code: Select all

Section "Device"
    Identifier "onboardvia"
    Driver "via"
    #VideoRam 8192
    # Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection
I have four of these boards an tv out works like a charm. I just built my last box using the xfree-4.3.99.7.ebuild and it has been super stable.

Isn't the "via" driver only for the Epia M boards? The Epia V features the same graphics chip as the "classic" Epias, the PLE133, which uses some sort of Trident driver.
I've only got an Epia M myself, and don't use TV-Out, but I'm pretty sure "via" is not the right driver for the V10000.
