I had the same problem, what you need to do is emerge em8300-modules-0.16.4 (masked ~x86) for your current kernel.

I get the same thing with ~x86 on this package. I have been waiting months for this to be resolved. Anyone have an idea where to start?

If you don't need the dxr3 use-flag for some reason, disable it. mmsv2 and mplayer (btw) are pulling that em8300 stuff in because of it...

Maybe it helps,

It did fix my problem, thanks! Now that I look closer this thread, the poster WANTS to use these modules. It seems they are broken though. Good luck!
