cruft substitute?

Is there any portage specific program that provides a similar function to Debian's cruft[1]? Hacking a shell script together using stuff in gentoolkit would be pretty easy, I was just wondering if anyone had already taken a stab at this? Or perhaps this sort of thing would be better approached in python?

The only thing I know of is findcruft. Take a look at http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Clean_Up_Cruft to see how to set it up/use it. I wouldn't trust it blindly, though.
