In particular, the "new mail" icon that Sylpheed displays in the panel notification area keeps disappearing after I leave the computer idle for a while. I suspect it may happen upon activation of gnome-screensaver, but I don't have the patience to test it extensively. The icons re-appear once I click the grey area where they should be. It occasionally happens with quodlibet and gaim, as well.
I'm not using beryl, XGL or any fancy video settings. I have an nVidia 6800 with the latest ~amd64 drivers (1.0.9755-r1). Composite, backingstore and AddARGBGLXVisuals are disabled. Renderaccel is enabled.
Any ideas?
