Selecting compiler for paludis

I have gcc 3 and 4 installed (slotted) because qemu must be compiled using gcc3. How do I tell paludis to use gcc3 for qemu?

U can compile qemu with gcc-4* see: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160627

but the idea is good - it would be nice to be able to select compiler with paludis or even with portage (I know about scripts but it would be nice to have it as build-in)

maybe this can help. And i agree, some kind of interface for this shipped with paludis would be awesome.

that would mean that eselect depends on portage. is that true?

I don't think eselect explicitly depends on portage.
