As you can see I'm trying to downgrade from a break-my-gentoo ebuild (which doesn't work :(). How come there isn't a gnome 2.16 ebuild in portage for it anyway? in any case, hope someone can shed light on what I need to do to get it to work. Thanks!

edit: The break-my-gentoo ebuild compiles, but user-admin is useless as it crashes every time you exit it. Just in case anyone wants to know :)

reinstall both autoconf versions that you have installed.
sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.61

Code: Select all

emerge =sys-devel/autoconf-2.1.3 =sys-devel/autoconf-2.6.1
see if that helps.
I have the same and it compiles fine for me.

Being a long time since the last post on this, but I have the same problem, can't go back from gnome-system-tools-2.20.0 to 2.14

Same 'running autoconf failed' issue.

any ideas ?

Well, few minutes later I solved it.

Need to downgrade 'system-tools-backends' first and then downgrade 'gnome-system-tools'

That did it for me.
