sleep sucking a lot of battery

sleep sucking a lot of battery

hello,

i have sleep working an a laptop but it sucks a lot a battery while sleeping (fully charged battery in about 7 hours). is there something i can do to reduce this? i read that i should reduce the kernel timer parameter, but it is already at 100MHz.

I do experience this on my lappy too, this might vary on how much RAM is used/cached at the time of the hibernate-ram.

Which kernel are you using?

You might want to try the suspend2-sources and http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Software_Suspend_v2.

2.6.18

never got STR working with suspend 2 but maybe i should try it with a newer kernel. any other hints?
