Motorola SLVR under Gentoo?

Folks -

I have a Motorola SLVR phone(CIngular service) and the necessary USB cable.

When I plug it into my Gentoo box(2.6.14-gentoo-r5) I get this in dmesg:

usb 3-1.6: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
usb 3-1.6: configuration #1 chosen from 2 choices

But it doesn't provide me with a mountpoint. Is there anyway to mount this phone and get information off it/to it?

Yes there is a way to do it. Look at the moto4lin project hosted at SF. I don't remember the exact details, but I have an L6 (quite similar to the slvr) and have gotten the program to work.
