Originally the directory was just going to have community sites (i.e. non gentoo.org stuff), but listing the official stuff is useful too. I've added forums.g.o, planet.g.o, GDP, packages.g.o, and overlays.g.o. I'll start up a new section for non-english language sites (gentoo.ro, gentoofr.org, etc). Thanks for the feedback!shickapooka800 wrote:^^^^he beat me to the post, but still::: ummm under "forums" you have the linux-help but not forums.gentoo.org? what gives?

I've been working pretty much non-stop for the last 4 hours and I'm pleased to announce that the new directory style http://larrythecow.com is up.tcort wrote:As the site continues to grow I'll be moving towards a directory structure (separate pages for each category).

Arch Linux and the Arch Linux LiveCD are not Gentoo-Based distros. I don't know about the rest of those. Gentoo-Based means they were built using Gentoo/Portage.Beefrum wrote:Category: Gentoo Based Linux Distributions

I think they will disagree! They state it and binaries need to be build before you can download and install them.Arch Linux and the Arch Linux LiveCD are not Gentoo-Based distros. I don't know about the rest of those. Gentoo-Based means they were built using Gentoo/Portage.

Are you saying the Arch Linux binaries are built with Gentoo?Beefrum wrote:[post=3456152]nom de plume[/post] wrote:I think they will disagree! Where? You just linked to the homepage. The only mention of gentoo is that they use gentoo kernel patches for certain kernels.Beefrum wrote:They do say so! Welcome to Arch! The lightweight linux distribution.
