kdelibs-3.5.2-r6 problem building: cannot find -llualib50

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

kdelibs-3.5.2-r6 problem building: cannot find -llualib50

Howdy! I'm somewhat stuck in the middle of an emerge update world. kdelibs-3.5.2-r6 does not seem to want to build at all, seemingly due to a lack of lualib50 (not a typo, not liblua50.so). The output at the end of the emerge is as follows:

Code: Select all

...
kel.lo ../interfaces/libkatepartinterfaces.la ../../kdeprint/libkdeprint.la ../../kutils/libkutils.la ../../kjs/libkjs.la -llua50 -llualib50
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.6/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot find -llualib50
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[3]: *** [libkatepart.la] Error 1

make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/kdelibs-3.5.2-r6/work/kdelibs-3.5.2'
make: *** [all] Error 2

There are several things I have done to try and remedy the situation, none of which have been successful. I have tried building dev-lang/lua which has not solved the situation. I have tried a revdep-rebuild which did not seem to rebuild anything useful. I am having a difficult time locating where this lualib50 comes from exactly, and how I go about getting it built so that everyone is happy again. I have lots of updates to do but seem to be stuck. I think it could help to know what requires lualib50 and what pulls in lualib50.

It's nothing too exciting, but here is the output of my emerge --info:

This emerge takes quite a long time to reach the error. Sorry for any inadequacies in this post. I have googled, searched these forums, looked at bugzilla, and it doesn't seem that anyone else is really having this problem. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hm, a missing optional dependency. Please file a bug.
