XFCE Screen size over FreeNX [solved]

  • Quote

Post by tutaepaki » Wed Jun 21, 2006 12:57 am

Hi,

I've just installed FreeNX, and set it up to use my default Desktop, i.e. XFCE4. When I connect from my Windows client, I can connect fine, and the XFCE desktop starts. The only problem, is that it's only a small window in the middle of the NXclient window. The NX Client is set to use the available screen size.

Is there some setting, either in FreeNX, or X11 that I can tweak to resolve this?

TIA
Tut.

woo!

Found something in the freenx mailling list archive.....

Edit the file in your home directory
.config/xfce4/mcs_settings/display.xml

There should be a line in there XDisplay/size with the value set to 0. Change 0 to something else. I used 100 and it worked.

Good stuff!! I've been putting up with this for a couple weeks. Now, if only session resuming would work again... it used to but stopped after the last upgrade.
Let me guess, you picked out yet another colorful box with a crank that I'm expected to turn and turn until OOP! big shock, a jack pops out and you laugh and the kids laugh and the dog laughs and I die a little inside.
