A emerge update after 5 months, what should I be careful of?

Hi,

I have been out of high speed internet access for about 5 months and have not been able to update my gentoo installation. I am finally getting broadband next week and was wondering if there is anything that I need to be careful of? I have read a bit about modular X now being used and some special things need to be done for that, but is there anything else?

Most likely you will also see a new kernel version, a new version of gcc, glibc, portage, baselayout udev etc.... It is probaly a good idea to
look at all the upgrade guides in the gentoo documentation. If you decide to install xorg 7 then look for the appropiate threads in this forum.
