USB Flash Drive Keeps Initializing

Whenever I plug my USB flashdrive into my gentoo box, the log fills with

ad nauesem until reaching 127 and looping back around.

Any suggestions? The drive works fine with other boxes

what kind of flash drive is it? it may be that its chipset does not play well with the driver you have. perhaps search google for info on it related to linux?
