But never mind... I can pretend that it makes even the tiniest shred of sense that I should have to effectively partly-gut a system library to satisfy the haphazard whims of a single application.
The bad news is that unlike 2 years ago, I am getting the message even after recompiling wxGTK with "-unicode".
So what on earth am I supposed to do now?
Did I do something really stupid along the way? Or is this a bug I should be reporting.
Sorry for ranting... but I can hardly believe this is still an issue with the audacity ebuild, same as it was years ago! Urgh. ;-(
