GDM doesn't save last session

Hi there,

I'm having this problem with GDM 2.6.0.9 .

I have installed enlightenment and i get this option in the sessions, but each time i loggin i much choose it. Because it doesn't save the last session.

I've seen in other posts and followed some instructions but still no luck this is what i have.

/etc/X11/Sessions/enlightenment

Code: Select all

  #!/bin/sh
  /usr/bin/enlightenment
/etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/enlightenment.desktop

Code: Select all

[Enlightenment]
 Encoding=UTF-8
 Name=enlightenment
 Comment=enlightenment
 Icon=
 Type=Application
Now i bealive i read somewhere that something has change in the .desktop file in the
latest version but i don't know if this is the correct config.

Can anybody help me on this ?

do you obtain a warning saying that your dmrc does not have the right permissions?

I haven't used 'gdm' for 6 months or so, but a couple of memories floated to the surface when i saw this thread...

The first is that the sessions displayed as options corresponded to '.desktop' files in /usr/share/xsessions, rather than /etc.

The other is that whenever i wanted to start a session other than the default, i always got prompted as to whether i wanted to start this session as a one-off, or set it as default; Doing the latter would've overcome your problem, i imagine.

I also vaguely recall that there was an option to automatically select whatever the last session had been, so the default isn't constantly changing, but i'm a bit hazy on that one... :roll:
