alhambra,

I dont have the trailing /, so mine looks like

Code: Select all

/usr/portage 192.168.0.0/24(async,rw)
What form of the mount command do you use ?

What user are you mounting it as?
You might want to put it read only and use the no_root_squash option. If you don't, then you won't get acces to it as root.

Also, I was having the same kinds of issues when manualy mounting nfs folders. What I did is I added them in fstab and have the nfs-mount service mount them. That's a lot faster.
Someone asked me once if I suffered from mental illness. I told him I enjoyed every second of it.

madchaz,

Be sure to use the

Code: Select all

bg,_netdev
options on nfs auto mouts in fstab.
bg allows the mount to run as a background task, thats essential to be able to boot when the nfs is not available.
Without that, mount will not return and the boot will stall until the share is available.
_netdev tells mount not to attempt the mount when the network is not avaiable. e.g in single user mode.

Interesting. When using netmount, it'll actualy fail very fast and allow me to boot anyway if I don't have network.
