phpmyadmin: config.inc.php no longer exists?

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

phpmyadmin: config.inc.php no longer exists?

Hi all!

I just emerged phpmyadmin-2.7.0_p1 on a system, and noticed that config.inc.php no longer is created? What is the file that replaces this one?

I have exactly the same problem.
Emerged the latest phpmyadmin but config.inc.php is missing.

Hmm strange, must be a bug or something.

Quick workarround:

cp config.default.php config.inc.php

And voila :D

read the release notes for phpmyadmin 2.7.0 :)
You can still use your config.inc.php file, but this file can be simplified, containing only the parameters you want to change from their corresponding default value in config.default.php.

The phpMyAdmin devs actually implemented a setup tool .. see scripts/setup.php

i don't think portage stores the release notes somewhere.

Look at the Project-Page of the app :)
For phpMyAdmin this would be www.phpmyadmin.net, you can find the notes there

yeah found it.
though the mentioned setup.php is missing from the portage version.

so I copied the config.inc.php and it accepts and loads the frontpage. But everything I do after that results in nothing. I just get the firefox error page.

btw. phpmyadmins webby is awful =) specially the part where the documentation has to open in a new strange window.

Normally, 'emerge -lp' should show changes like this, right? 8)

Solution

Post by tronicsmasta » Fri Feb 10, 2006 4:57 pm

Ok, The solution I have come up with is the following:

Code: Select all

cp /var/www/localhost/htdocs/phpmyadmin/config.default.php /var/www/localhost/htdocs/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php

nano -w /var/www/localhost/htdocs/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php

change
$cfg['PmaAbsoluteUri'] = 'http://localhost//phpmyadmin';

to
$cfg['PmaAbsoluteUri'] = '';

Phpmyadmin auto detects that particular setting. obviously, your directories might be different. like it might not be /var/www/localhost/...

Hope this fixes everyones problem. :wink:
