Mozilla and mail notification sound

Hi!

Is there a way to make mozilla ring a bell or something when new mail comes in? I hate the default PC beeper sound.

I'm using ALSA sound drivers on KDE and defining a wav in mozilla doesn't do anything.

This is a missing feature under unix in mozilla right now.
I've solved this by using softbeep. It needs some fiddling, but
it works.

Is this still the case in 1.4?

I am not sure this is the case. I have a RedHat install with Mozilla 1.4 and have no issues getting it to play sound.
