removing selinux

removing selinux

I still want to use the gentoo linux hardened profile. But i do not want selinux anymore. How do i remove it?

Did you try:

emerge --unmerge selinux-base-policy (or whatever it is you want to remove)

Or is it more complicated than that? I haven't played with selinux much.

Moved from Gentoo on AMD64 to Networking & Security as this isn't really AMD64-specific.

mhhh i just switched profile.. new kernel and emerge -ae world... removed additional mountpointed reboot.. complete...
dunno if its the "good" way but it works

you can also disable it with a kernel boot parameter in grub / lilo - I believe (from the top of my head, so double check this first) it is selinux=0
