VMware clock is running fast (racing) ... [solved]

Problems with emerge or ebuilds? Have a basic programming question about C, PHP, Perl, BASH or something else?

VMware clock is running fast (racing) ... [solved]

All,

I could swear I have seens a post here before discussing the issue wth fast clocks running under VMware. Specifically, I am running Gentoo as my base, and then have WinXP as my guest. The XP "system" clock is running very fast. It increments a minute about every 20 seconds.

If someone could point me to that post, or just post the solution, I would be grateful. I can't seem to find the right search keywords to locate it.

Thanks,

Jake[glep=][/glep]

Well, if you are using version 5 there is an option to sync the guest time to the host time, which should alleviate the issue you are facing. I think that the post that you may be looking for is the following:
