Weird crash with esvn...

Hi,
I've been searching and searching for a reason that this could be happening, but I have no idea and no one I've read about has even reported something like this, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Basically, when esvn starts all the menus, etc, work, but as soon as I select *anything*, it just plain hangs and does nothing. Nothing but a ctrl-c or an xkill will stop the program.

I've been trying to find a svn ui client that works at all, and esvn seems to be my last hope, and I still can't get it running to see how it works. Rapidsvn is reeeally slow for browsing directories and doing actions (and not only on my amd64 machine, but at work on a p4 machine as well), and I wanted something akin to tortoise svn which works wonders and is responsive and fast (unfortunately, only for windows). I've heard esvn works great, but I have no clue yet :-P

Here's my emerge info:

If no one has already solved this then I'll submit a bug in bugzilla (there's not even an entry for esvn there at all, I would have thought there would be one from before). But I hope its something stupid and small that I just messed up so I can fix it and be on my way. Any takers?

Oh yeah, I'm trying:
esvn-0.6.11
qt-3.3.4-r8

I saw your post and I use esvn heavily at home and work on x86 boxes.

I did have a few moments last night to install it on my opteron box at home last night (added esvn package to the /etc/portage/package.mask with ~amd64).

I ran it and it worked fine as far as browsing a repository. I didn't have time beyond that to test checkout/checkin, but I was able to select a menu item, have a dialog pop up and use the dialog box popup and navigate around the repository.

I get a chance tonight I'll post my config setup after I get home.

The esvn version installed on my box is:
dev-util/esvn-0.6.11

I just checked out a repository, changed a file, used the 'Quick Diff' capability under esvn and checked the code change in with no problems.

alaterale, can you strace esvn and see where it stops?
BTW, also please try running it with non-UTF8 locale

Well, strace just puts me in some infinite loop of ioctls, but its no different from the app starts up and displays a GUI. As I said, one menu activation anywhere and it just does nothing and sits there.

I tested this out on my x86 pentium4 at work and it works fine.

Also, is there an easy way to run something as non UTF8 locale or do I have to turn it off for my whole system and check?
LANG=C ./esvn
