gentoo 2005.1 (errata?) + kde 3.4.2

Hi, I'd want to install 2005.1 on a Pentium 4.
I heard there's a minor bug in the tarball permissions. Is there another I haven't heard of?

Also, I have FreeBSD 5.4 installed and I downloaded the sources to kde-* 3.4.2
Is it supported?

kde 3.4.2 is in portage, although it is masked by the ~arch keyword. Just unmask it by inserting some lines in /etc/portage/package.keywords and then run emerge kde-meta.

Please don't try to use FreeBSD's kde source code on Gentoo, it probably will not compile with the patches from Ports.

I downloaded the generic sources from ftp://ftp.scarlet.be/pub/kde/stable/3.4.2/src/
FreeBSD ports work with generic sources and patches. Is this the same with gentoo?
