Hello, I am trying to set up an little Video Broadcast Server. I have looked into a two diffrent Streaming solutions which is VLS and MPLAYER
Though both of them arent that nice too my Bandwidth. It is said that Shoutcast is supposed to be the most Bandwitdh nice server there is. Is this true?
Else what programs is there to use? And do you know if there is a somewhat simple but detailed FAQ for it?

Cheers!

Just emerged flumotion now, And when i try to start it as root, I get this message;

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/sbin/flumotion", line 63, in ?
_run_main(PROGRAM_PATH)
File "/usr/sbin/flumotion", line 46, in _run_main
from flumotion.twisted import reflect
ImportError: No module named flumotion.twisted

Normally i dont start things as root, But thing is, I dont even find flumotion by as the ordinary user. Now i tried look at flumotions offical homepage, But i cant find a faq. So does someboduy know if there is a good page to look at or can someone explain this too me?

Cheers!

emerge twisted.

The only thing that makes any difference to the bandwidth usage in the end though is the bitrate you stream at - the higher that is, the more bandwidth you use, period.

The fact that flumotion streams vorbis/theora helps with the quality becuase they work well at low bitrates, but bitrate-for-bitrate you won't use less bandwidth just because it's flumotion.
