Gnome Downgrade 2.10.1 -> 2.8.3

I did a Gnome downgrade today, deleted all of my gnome files in my home folder and loaded it, and for some reason I have no icons, nothing preloaded on panel (which is really small now), and keyboard group error. Do i need to delete all of the older gnome folders and them re emerge everything? and if I do, which folders should i delete?

i did that, no avail, it has to be default configs somewhere in /
