US Robotics wireless card on amd64

Hi everyone,

I have an US Robotics wireless PCI card, but i can't get it working.
I tried to use DriverLoader (http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/) to use the windows driver which only exists in 32-bits version.

So, has anyone got that working?

I also tried to use the wireless adapter which is sold with my asus A8V Deluxe motherboard. I tried to use the 64bits Broadcom driver (http://www.linuxant.com/driverloader/drivers.php) and it is recognized by driverloader, but the web interface which controls driverloader tells me that no card can be found for this driver.

Any ideas?

Are you sure that you need DriverLoader, what kind of US Robotics wireless card is it? As far as I know, most should work with the in-kernel drivers.

end ndiswrapper works with broadcom's on 64bit

The US Robotics is a 5416 PCI...

I can't find which module i have to compile.

I'm lost.

I'm a noob, and i don't know how to get that Wi-Fi working...

I tried to follow the howto (http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Wireless_C ... nd_Startup).
But:

iwconfig
lo        no wireless extensions.

tunl0     no wireless extensions.

eth0      no wireless extensions.

sit0      no wireless extensions.

So, do i need a specific driver? I thought i needed one since my cards aren't seen by iwconfig.
How do i know what module i need in the kernel?

I'm sorry about the stupid questions, but wireless stuff isn't well documented.

I'll keep on trying to use ndiswrapper.

Hi Laurent.

Im not sure if your card does have in kernel drivers, but if it does not only broadcom based wireless cards work with ndiswrapper on amd64 right now. You also need 64 bit windows drivers to use on your 64bit installation of gentoo if your trying to use ndiswrapper (or driverloader for that matter).

If you install a x86 (32 bit) gentoo install, then you can use ndiswrapper with the 32bit drivers for your card. This is a lot more likely to work for you.

Its a problem at the moment, I too am waiting for some IPN 2220 drivers for 64bit windows that work with ndiswrapper on an amd64.

Actually, the broadcom 64-bits driver isn't what i need. I found that the chipset is a RaLink... and there is no 64-bits driver, neither for the RaLink chipset nor for the TI chipset.

I'll have to wait until windows 64 bits begins to spread... i hate this world.
