xorg / pswrap compile error [SOLVED}

  • Quote

Post by hicsuget » Sat Apr 09, 2005 3:28 am

I am unable to get xorg-x11 compiled on my desktop. emerge x11 consistently fails in the /var/tmp/portage/xorg-x11-6.8.2-r1/work/xc/config/pswrap directory. I cd'd to that directory and typed make, and I got the following output:

Code: Select all

rm -f pswrap
i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -o pswrap -02 -mcpu=i686 -pipe -fno-strict-aliasing -ansi -pedantic -Wno-return-type -w     -L../../exports/lib    main.o pswparser.o lexer.o pswdict.o pswfile.o    systemnames.o psw.o pswstring.o pswsemantics.o    -lfl -Wl, -rpath-link,../../exports/lib
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.5/../../../../i686-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot find -lfl
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [pswrap] Error 1
So then I try

Code: Select all

compy pswrap # cat Makefile | grep lfl
LEXLIB = -lfl
EXTRA_LIBRARIES = 'lfl
Does anybody have any idea what any of this means? I just installed gentoo on this particular box yesterday, so it's quite possible I'm missing a dependency or a library or something.

Try to emerge sys-devel/flex. It should provide this library.

Thanks for the advice, but I already did "ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge -u x11, and that worked.
