KDE / Gnome menu icon change [SOLVED]

  • Quote

Post by computer_druid » Mon Mar 07, 2005 6:43 pm

I am running KDE but am also interested on how to do it in Gnome.

I would like to switch out the Menu icon (the K in KDE or the foot in Gnome) to something else like the Gentoo icon.

When you go to Red Hat or SuSE they both have their logos in place of the K/foot. Maybe something could be made to easily switch out the K/foot for the Gentoo logo (or have it as default when you emerge? ;)

Hmm.. you can change it in KDE for sure:
One method would be to change the kmenu.png your icons folder << cant tell you where it is now cuz im on windows

The other which im not sure about is right clicking on it and going into the menu editor which lets you change it too i think

hope this confused post helps you :)

Great!
I have also found where to go in Gnome.

In Gnome I found the icon for the main menu

Code: Select all

 /usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-main-menu.png
and when I changed it and restarted the Gnome session it worked great!

Now I can begin fooling around with the image to change it TO!
