Is it possible to use DirectFB on a voodoo3 with tv-out?

Hi,
I'm using a Voodoo3 3000 with TV-Out for my "Multimedia Station". The TV-Out works fine using this modeline in xorg:

ModeLine "720x576PAL" 27.50 720 744 800 880 576 581 583 625

However, I would like to use the framebuffer (directfb with the tdfxfb kernel module) which does not work. My fb.modes looks like this (i converted the Xorg-modeline):

mode "720x576"

But unfortunately, this mode doesn't work with my TV-Out (in contrast to the xorg-modeline which works just fine). I just get a distorted screen. Do I have to set anything special? Did I do any mistake or is it just impossible because directfb changes some registers on the card so that tv-out doesn't work at all?
