http://portage-sharp.sourceforge.net/

And, judging by the single screenshot, it may even let the power users play nicely.

I thought guitoo was renamed to kuroo, or is that a different one?

useless piece of crud if you want any control at all... not very intuitive and does not let you select versions

This looks realy nice (portage-sharp) i wonder if it works properly ?
The idea is nice though Kuroo seemms to have more options regarding the install
(use flags, etc.)

Has anybody tested Sharp yet ? //is it only for gnome ?
Would be intrested what comes out..

And what about Kuroo can you try older versions of the former name guitoo without risk ?

i had no problems with guitoo. however, i only used this for looking whats new, and for searchning, because i dont use root in KDE, and my username is not in the portage group.

Is portage-sharp even being developed? Their activity percentile is zero, they haven't released any files, they don't have anything in their bugs or forums besides two test messages... Considering that they started the project 10 months ago, they should have at least something besides a single screenshot (which, for all we know, was done using Glade). To me, this looks like a classic stillborn sourceforge wisp of vapor.

so? they have a realse due in June. IT is this kind of attitude "get something out" that caused MS all their security and stability problems - there was no reason at all for windows to be as unstable as it is (WindowsME)

it will be ready when it is readyu - they are doing it for free - you want it sooner, help to get rid of the bugs they more than likey have
#define HelloWorld int
#define Int main()
#define Return printf
#define Print return
#include <stdio>
HelloWorld Int {
Return("Hello, world!\n");
Print 0;

uh, bugs in what? their screenshot? i think he was referring to the fact that there's nothing there. the cvs is empty and the account hasn't been touched since it's creation. how does that spawn a MS rant?
by design, by neglect
for a fact or just for effect

Please have a look at their CVS repository. It is as bare as the Antarctic ice sheet and as empty as my wallet. There is nothing in it besides a default CVS config. How, may I ask, should I fix their bugs if they don't have any code to contain bugs in?

(I suppose that they might be developing the project entirely on their home machines, waiting until it's perfect, and then loosing it upon the world. But in that case, why did they put up a sourceforge page 10 months ago? The entire point of sourceforge is for collaborative development -- but their CVS is empty (IMHO, the explanation is that they came up with a cool name, made a mockup in glade, put it on sf, and then realized that writing code is hard, at which point they quietly abandoned the project. Of course, I might be wrong.))
