I'm going to install gentoo on an old laptop which doesn't boot cdroms in BIOS and only has one bay.
I'm trying to figure out how I would do this.
One idea I came up with was to possibly reformat the hard drive, then install some type of boot loader (maybe grub? I have no idea.) which tells it to go to the bootable cd at boot.
Another easier idea I came up with was to create a bootable DOS partition with cdrom support. All im missing is some kind of app that can boot the Linux CD from DOS. Anybody know of one?
Anybody have any experience in this dilemma here?
