What mail setup should I use?

I need to set up a server as firewall, mail and dns for a small office. All clients (15-20) will be Win XP. My plan is to use iptables, qmail and bind.

I have been reading the qmail is not being updated anymore. Is there a better alternative?

The traditional sendmail is well worth learning. I know there is many people on this forum that do not like sendmail, but it can do anything, is kept updated and has some more user friendly configuration than in the past.

How secure is sendmail. From what I saw it was kind of last on the list or is that just relative and sendmail really is fairly secure?

Also, is qmail just so well written that it doesn't need updates?

The office is currently running sendmail so it would be easy to switch over to a new box so I am just wondering what would be the best solution.

Sendmail has had its issues over the years, but a lot of work has gone into securing it. I have been running an older version on a machine exposed to the internet for years without problems.
