hehe, the shot looks great, this maybe is a new addition to 3.3.1 specialy :)
ok, go to your home directory and type:

rm -rf ./kde (this will remove all configuration files) and u can set up it again, and this time read description of the options before select :)
If u cant give advice, dont send the helpless to the HOWTO's way or Google.com way.

thanks for the reply. deleting the configs didn't help. I noticed that when kde first starts up, the first thing the anoying little window says is 'ksmserver'. then it procedes to tell me everytime i resize a window, close it, whatever, ad naseum. I don't want to start over, because other than that, the system works great.

I've never seen this. Are you sure you deleted all config files? How about cleaning out /tmp as well? What if you add a new user and log into KDE with that?

Can you find out what process does this?

I'm just guessing, really...

A box of cigars you said? Well, let's see :)

Have you tried to put everything off in Control Center--> Sound and Multimedia --> System Notifications-->KDE windowmanager?

The names might be slightly different, since I use a localized KDE.

P.M me for my adress :P
