Hi,
I just emerged baselayout 1.11.5 to get the wireless scripts, and when i was fixing the 34 odd /etc conflicts, I stuffed up...

I moved ._cfg0000_localmount over local (in /etc/init.d)
needed onemore tab! Can someone pls just post theirs.. I'm too afaraid to reboot, i'm not even too sure what i overwrote!

thanks!

PS: yeah, this is my 1st post, but i've already solved like a dozen other probs just by searching the forums.... very impressed!

in the first way, you (or emerge confirmed by you), is replaced the init script localmount, this script mounts the local filesystems and read /etc/fstab

the second way, (check it too ) /etc/fstab, if u're say replace when emerge ask u, at the moment u have /etc/fstab like this one comes with the stagex-2004-xxx.tar.gz

/dev/BOOT somewhere someFS
/dev/ROOT somewhere someFS
If u cant give advice, dont send the helpless to the HOWTO's way or Google.com way.

Thanks for the prompt reply, 12 minutes, wow!

I may have been unclear (or i don't follow your reply) , localmount and fstab is fine, but i accidentally deleted (overwrote)
/etc/init.d/local

i'm guessing so anyway.. loc [tab] filled it out to local and i stupidly hit enter.. so i guess there was something originally called local, and i imagine i need it back before i do anything else!

And i was doing it manually for mistrust of etc-update.
etc-update shouldn't trust me!

:o

Just remove your /etc/init.d/local and reinstall baselayout. That should get it back. (I'd post mine, but I'm using baselayout 1.11.6-r1, not 1.11.5; it might have changed a little bit.)
