doom3 no sound - no not the same

doom3 loads great however I don't get sound!
I have searched the forums for as long as I could bear but couldn't find anybody with a similar probllem (or solutioin).

I have a audigy 2, oss and alsa work in xmms.

From the console

the only warings/errors I get are bunch like

I can't figure it out, any sugestions or ideas?

I had a similar problem, as it turns out, I copied over a few too many files from my windows partition. A delete/re-install fixed it up.

Sounds about right!
I had trouble installing it, and I copied all the pk4 files (never thought anything of it)

I will try it again when I get home.
