samba and external drive

Ok I am trying to share my external USB drive through SAMBA . The problem is that I only know how to mount under root. And every time I mount it as root SAMBA is not able to read the mount point since everything is owned by root. So i either need to make it so i can mount under a normal user or make SAMBA be able to read root partions.
