Are you sure you compiled in the correct drivers for your NIC?
I am never wrong. I am simply misinterpreted.

yes i am. i used the taigon3 drivers for the broadcom nic on my soyo kt600 based motherboard. the livecd did not detect the nic initially on boot and i used the same driver to successfully bring up the interface for the installation. i built tg3 into the kernel rather than leaving it as a module for normal use.

i had a problem when i compiled the driver as a module rather than in the kernel. does anyone know why this may be? i have had trouble with kernel versions 2.4.25 and 2.6.7 thusfar. any further help is greatly appreciated.
