linux-2.6.7-mm2 and vim

  • Quote

Post by giuseppe » Sat Jun 26, 2004 1:24 pm

I'm trying linux-2.6.7-mm2, but when I use vim, I'm getting: "Segmentation fault".
Is someone getting the same error message?

Bye.

I'm having a lot of problems with mm-sources : mplayer stops and flash animation crashes firefox...

I recommend you to use a different kernel for the moment.
PC (Gentoo): Athlon 64 @2.5 Ghz, A8V, 1 GB ram, ATI 9600XT, 160 + 250 GB HDD
Laptop (ArchLinux): IBM Thinkpad R40, Intel Centrino 1.4 GHz, 512 MB ram, 40 GB HDD
Kernel: 2.6.19-Beyond2

OK. It's a amusing try. But it's strange; because I've nvidia card and I was
looking forward to seeing the X-crashing. But I didn't think to see the Vim-crash!

mm-sources-2.6.7 is broken

mm-sources-2.6.7-mm2 is borked. It killed mplayer's vo=xv, flash in firefox-0.9, and Diablo II LOD in wine.

Any new ideas on this?

flash in firefox is NOT broken for me.
mplayer -vo xv is NOT broken for me.

But vim segfaults....

I emerged vi as a stand-in, but I really miss vim....

PS: I'm using -love5 (based on -mm5) right now

I think I solved this by re-compiling vim with less agressive cflags.

GIve it a try...

anyway I have vim working with 2.6.7-mm2 and 2.6.7-mm4

vim and mplayer works fine here, currently running on 2.6.7-mm4. Never had a vim crash, ever. :)

Vim is crashing for me too, and I'm using the above kernel. It actually works when I run it inside of valgrind, but it reports a bunch of errors.
