Extremely slow (frozen?) boot from LiveCD

Having problems with the Gentoo Handbook? If you're still working your way through it, or just need some info before you start your install, this is the place. All other questions go elsewhere.

Extremely slow (frozen?) boot from LiveCD

I'm trying to install Gentoo onto a Netfinity 5500 M20 (currently running suse). Using the 2004.1 livecd, it takes quite awhile to do the "Filling fliesystem portion." It does eventually finish that, but then it gets to where it says "Booting" and just seems to hang. It's been sitting there for the past 20 minutes or so. I've used this same CD on other systems (not Netfinity). I'm using the "gentoo-nofb doscsi" kernel/options.

Here's the specs:
4xPIII Xeon 500
2.3 GB RAM
IBM ServeRAID (RAID 5)

Try booting one of the smp kernels, gentoo-nofb might not have support for multiple processors.

You might have got a bad image, (use the md5sum to check it) or maybe a bad burn... I had this problem once, I'd used a quick-erased CD-RW and it didn't burn right (nero cd-speed showed loads of red sectors). Another burn to a CD-R and it worked fine (also a full erase then full burn worked to my CD-RW).
Keyboard error or no keyboard present. Press F1 to continue.

I probably should've mentioned that I'd tried SMP kernel already with same results.

Seems like it was in fact a bad burn. A new download and burn and it worked like a charm. Whatever, so long as it works!

Thanks
