problem about alsa!!!!

Help with creation, editing, or playback of sounds, images, or video. Amarok, audacious, mplayer, grip, cdparanoia and anything else that makes a sound or plays a video.

problem about alsa!!!!

hello

i installed alsa and working properly on gentoo-kernel 2.6.5 everything is good but i have a litte problem since whenever i boot my computer, alsa supports on booting although when i open xmms i cant get sound. i have to run alsaconf everythime in order to get sound from my card my questions is how can i get sound without running alsaconf everytime ?

try to doing alsaconf in boot i mean i will do alsaconf automatically

nano -w /etc/conf.d/local.start
and write
alsaconf
after when you will reboot it will do alsaconf in boot :)

set output plugin to alsa or esd; if you choose esd make your /etc/esd/esd.conf look like this:

auto_spawn=1
spawn_options=-terminate -nobeeps -as 2 -d default
spawn_wait_ms=100
Cand nu stii ce sa raspunzi sau ce sa spui un simplu BLA ajunge... lolz

Might the problem be the mixer being muted at boot everytime?

after it will come in X screen and configure the sound after save and after reboot it should work :)
